House of the Virgin Mary
Room Description
Hidden among the greenery of Bülbül Mountain just above Ephesus, this modest stone house is believed to be where the Virgin Mary spent the final years of her life. With its peaceful atmosphere beneath the shade of the trees, it is one of the special sites considered sacred by both Christians and Muslims. Visited by leaders such as Pope Paul VI and Pope John Paul II, the house welcomes visitors from all over the world every year.
The wishing wall right beside the house is covered with thousands of prayer notes written in different languages; drinking water from the natural spring below is also one of the traditions here. Just 7 km from our hotel, this peaceful corner will give you a deep sense of calm, whatever your beliefs.
